Who We Are:
ARIX Technologies is a growing venture-backed robotics company based in Houston, Texas. Founded by a team of commercially minded engineers working with oil & gas industry veterans, we seek to help manufacturing plants improve their safety and reliability through robotic inspection and data analytics. We’re developing pipe-crawling inspection robots and a big data management and visualization software that can help improve safety and efficiency. Immediately focused on petrochemicals and utilities, we see long term applications in other industries as well, such as water and transportation.
Who You Are:
We’re looking for a new partner who is a team player, loves creating things, and is deeply interested in electronics and robotics. You should enjoy getting your hands dirty, should be comfortable in a dynamic work environment, and should have fun solving problems that haven’t yet been solved. You should be someone who makes decisions based on a strong foundation of theoretical knowledge, but creative enough to tinker and devise new solutions to problems. You should be curious about new and innovative solutions, passionate enough to help bring those ideas to life, and open enough to collaborate with and be challenged by your teammates. You should not be afraid to take ownership in your part of the company and should feel proud of being an integral player. And most of all, you should be excited to be part of a fun and growing team making a difference solving a major real-world problem.
The Role:
Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Performing trade-off studies for technical solutions, including make/buy recommendations
- Developing related documentation to facilitate future diagnostics, redesigns, and manufacturing
- Resolving problems encountered in testing, quality assurance processes, and field use
- Collaborating with the software engineer who develops the embedded software and the mechanical engineers who develop the robots’ hardware
- Working closely with the rest of the engineers and taking a systems level approach to deliver the best possible product together
- Taking responsibility to help grow the ARIX engineering team and successively improve the level of quality and professionalism in our work
What You Bring:
We require the following qualifications:

- Designing, developing, testing, and verifying electrical, and electromechanical systems
- Microcontrollers, digital sensors, and digital circuits design
- Analog sensors and analog circuit design to interface with digital circuits
- Batteries, power management, and safety
- Experience with professional cable harness and cable management design
- Ability to apply engineering principles and simulation (e.g., SPICE) to electrical system designs
- Familiarity with microcontrollers programming using C
- Familiarity with robotics sensors (e.g., IMUs, encoders, cameras, etc.)
